There was just the one wandering about between the end of the stand and the Southbank. I normally feel under watch when taking a 'nip' from the flask on these cold days but felt quite uninhibited on Sunday....

Best three players from round one were Garbutt, Ratchford, and Fages.

I like Jimmy he's a very solid centre but some people have a very OTT opinion of his ability. He will very rarely let you down. But is he good enough to get a starting role week in week out at a top-four club? in my opinion No.

Just received an e mail from Peter Box in response to a number of issues that I raised about the city.

He was objective and courteous and although there were items that we disagreed upon he argued his corner.

The reason that I mention this is because he said that he had spoken to the Trinity chairman today who in turn had thanked Cllr Box for his help.

Finally, the start of the regular season draws close and the Dons head to Kingston Park to face off against Newcastle Thunder.

The bookies have both teams at the top end of the market to be the regular season winner. Newcastle are 3/1 with both Betfred and Skybet, second favourites behind Oldham with the former and third favourites after Workington & Oldham with the latter.
