Kwankwaso's defection to PDP is long overdue - APC lawmaker
Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso's defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to PDP is not a surprise to members of the party, according to the speaker of the Kano national House of Assembly, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata.

Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso's defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not a surprise to members of the party, according to the speaker of the Kano national House of Assembly, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata.
Ata claimed Kwankswaso's exit was expected by the party and long overdue. He added that the senator's edit won't affect tte party's victory in 2019, Daily Trust.

He said: “The defection of Senator Kwankwaso from APC to PDP is long overdue. For a very long time, we have not been together. His stay in APC was just symbolic. So if today he announces his defection to PDP, it will not surprise many of us because we knew he has not been with APC for a very long time."
A member of the Kano Assembly representing Municipal local government area, Alhaji Baffa Babba Danagundi, dispelled the rumour of defection of some APC members to PDP.
He said: “Even the six members of Kwankwasiyya group in the house have not announced their defection to PDP not to talk of APC members that are loyal to Ganduje. We are loyal to Ganduje and we will remain loyal to him."

NAIJ.com previously reported that on Sunday, July 1, described his predecessor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, representing Kano central, as irrelevant in his senatorial ward and unproductive in the Senate.
Ganduje who made this statement while responding to claim made earlier by Kwankwaso that he was capable of defeating Buhari in the next election if they handed him the PDP ticket, said the former governor can't even win an election in his ward.
