Do you think USADA is good for the UFC? Shorter Post Here. Yes, I know.....
I am sure anyone reading this post will assume I added too many words to make a point. I am curious to hear how other's feel about this issue.
My Main arguments/questions are;
1-It seems punishments are not consistent, the UFC/USADA create Narratives that are shaky to push an agenda. Some reporter's have pointed out some of the issues. Why should we trust an agency that has never been known for transparency.
2- Is it fair fighter's with Money/Lawyers get reduced penalties vs. fighter's without resources or platform? Why do test results come back at different times? Why are hearings so slow to occur? Are they independent if the UFC pays them directly?
3- USADA often lumps all banned substances together which is crazy. (Scientific studies do not always exist.) They follow FDA guide lines which is ironic as the FDA does not regulate many of these chemicals & USADA is not a government agency? Why can't commissions do this?
4- Is USADA really a Non Profit? I would encourage you to look into the case of Machida & DHEA on Bloody Elbow.
5- The IV ban is not something they have studied other than using the opinion's of paid UFC Nutrionists? Has this policy worked?
6- Why do commissions do their own testing & not recognize USADA guidelines unless beneficial for them? Why should fighter's have to challenge 2 agencies regulating the same issue which costs extra money/Time?
Lastly, do you feel they are transparent? If the NAC get's the final say, why have USADA?
If testing is so intrusive/random, why do they not catch people on a Cycle? Are they ahead of cheating as the expert's?
I ask these questions since I feel a TRT program done by Medical professionals & with clear limits could be more effective as many athletes suffer from low Testosterone through no fault of their own. The UFC tried this but had a profit motive. Why ban a program because it was poorly enforced the first time? What if your favorite fighter had a legit medical reason, why should they be denied treatment? Nothing is black & White.
Thanks for reading. What do you think? Is USADA helping or hurting the UFC? Are other organizations benefiting?
