Top prospect Aspen Ladd returns at Invicta FC 18
One of the best prospects in women's MMA returns to the cage next month.
Aspen Ladd will meet fellow undefeated fighter Jessica Hoy at Invicta FC 18 on July 29 in Kansas City, the promotion announced Thursday on its radio show. Also added to the card was an atomweight clash between Tessa Simpson and Simona Soukupova.
Ladd (3-0) is a top up-and-coming women's bantamweight fighter. She has finished all three of her pro fights, which all came in Invicta. Ladd, 21, is coming off a third-round TKO victory over Kelly McGill in March and also owns a second-round submission win over Amanda Bobby Cooper, who is now a finalist on The Ultimate Fighter 23.
Hoy (1-0) won her lone pro fight against Jessica Eve Richer in May 2015. The Washington state native now fights out of Las Vegas.
Simpson (4-1) is coming off a third-round submission victory over Satomi Takano in March under the Pacific Xtreme Combat banner. That was the 29-year-old Texan's first fight in nearly three years. Soukupova (5-3-1) has not fought since May 2015, a second-round knockout over Iman Darabi, and has not competed in Invicta for three years.
