Ankara calls on Berlin not to "destroy ” the relations
Mediamax recalls that the German Bundestag will discuss the Armenian Genocide issue on June 2. Most foreign policy experts of Bundestag factions have already given a clear signal that their political forces will support the resolution.
As Turkish Hurriyet newspaper writes, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister and Government Spokesperson Numan Kurtulmus expressed hope that German parliamentarians will not vote for this resolution and will not “destroy” the relations between Germany and Turkey.
According to him, Turkish-German relations have continued since World War II with “extreme sincerity”.
“I believe that the German parliament will not destroy this relationship out of respect for a few politicians. If they do such thing (edit.-adopt the resolution) it would consist solely of a text which has no scientific value”, said the Turkish Government Spokesperson.
