Armenia-Turkey reconciliation won’t come "from above”, says President
Serzh Sargsyan stated this during his speech at John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Armenian President stressed that the more aggressive policy Turkish government adopts, the louder Turkish community speaks about the Armenian Genocide.
“An intellectual generation is growing in Turkey today, and this cream of the society will be established so strongly in the end that it will oblige its own government to tell the truth. I am convinced that day will come,” stated Serzh Sargsyan.
“In fact, we are extremely interested in peaceful and democratic development of Turkey. We believe that the nations living in Turkey will be valid citizens and will be able to live with dignity exactly as a result of radical democratization. Unfortunately, we see contrary trends today, which is disturbing for us,” said Serzh Sargsyan.
