MacArthur Bridge still unrepaired, off-limits to massive Black Nazarene procession on Jan. 9

Geducos The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has yet to repair the MacArthur Bridge near Plaza Miranda and Quiapo Church in Manila, which thus remains off limits to the Black Nazarene procession with its hundreds of thousands of devotees on Jan. 9. The image, which is now at the Quiapo Church, will be taken to the Independence Grandstand at the Luneta on Thursday or Friday for a midnight mass on Friday, January 8, and a lilturgical ceremony at 5:30 a.m. on Friday, January 9, after which the Traslacion procession begins. It is this procession from the Luneta back to Quiapo Church which is joined by massive crowds. “We have not yet started the rehabilitation of MacArthur Bridge.
