Red Sox's John Farrell diagnosed with lymphoma
Boston Red Sox manager John Farrell said Friday that he has been diagnosed with stage 1 lymphoma. Farrell, 53, announced at a pregame news conference at Fenway Park that he will take leave for the rest of the 2015 season to undergo treatment. Bench coach Torey Lovullo will be overseeing the team until next year, when Farrell said he expects to return.
