Nutanix shares fall after hours as wider-than-expected loss forecast
Nutanix Inc. shares dropped in the extended session Thursday after the enterprise cloud computing company forecast a wider-than-expected loss for the quarter. Nutanix shares fell 4.6% after hours, following a 0.5% decline to close the regular session at $60.82. For the fiscal first quarter, Nutanix expects an adjusted loss of 28 cents to 26 cents a share on revenue of $295 million to $310 million. Analysts surveyed by FactSet expect a loss of 23 cents a share on revenue of $308.8 million. The company reported a fiscal fourth-quarter loss of $87.4 million, or 51 cents a share, compared with a loss of $66.1 million, or 43 cents a share, in the year-ago period. The adjusted loss was 11 cents a share. Revenue rose to $303.7 million from $252.5 million in the year-ago period. Analysts had estimated a loss of 22 cents a share on revenue of $298.6 million.
