Katy Bridge over the Bayou Teche, in St. Mary Parish, will be closed to all traffic beginning Monday, Jan. 29 through Monday, March 18, weather permitting.
BALDWIN, La. (KLFY) -- Katy Bridge over the Bayou Teche, in St. Mary Parish, will be closed to all traffic beginning Monday, Jan. 29 through Monday, March 18, weather permitting.
According to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, the closure is necessary to allow crews to perform hydraulic repairs, repair span motors, shim the bridge and mount structural steel under the roadway.
Emergency vehicles will not have access to the area.
The posted detour will consist of La. 182, Irish Bend Road, La. 323 (Oaklawn Bridge) and La. 87, DOTD said.
