2019 WWE Draft: Rules, available stars, start time, how to watch
Everything you need to know about the upcoming WWE Draft.
One week after moving SmackDown to Fox, WWE is set to jumble the rosters for its two flagship shows with the latest edition of the WWE Draft.
The 2019 WWE Draft is a two-night event that will begin on Friday, October 11th at 8:00 p.m. ET on SmackDown and conclude on Monday Night Raw next week. In all, a total of 71 individual WWE stars and WWE tag teams will be eligible to be drafted to either brand. Every current WWE champion is up for grabs.
How does the WWE Draft work, and which stars are on the draft list? We’re here to help.
Which show gets the first pick?
WWE announced that the first pick will be decided with a match between two former Shield teammates on SmackDown. Universal Champion Seth Rollins, representing Raw, will face Roman Reigns, who is representing SmackDown. The winning brand gets first pick.
What is the draft format?
Via WWE:
30 Superstars will be eligible to be drafted while 41 Superstars will be eligible on Monday Night. Since Friday Night SmackDown is a two-hour show and Monday Night Raw is a three-hour show, for every two SmackDown picks, Raw will get three. Tag Teams will count as one pick unless FOX or USA Network specifically wants to pick one Superstar from the team. Any undrafted Superstars will immediately be declared free agents and able to sign with the brand of their choosing.According to WWE, FOX and USA Network execs “have direct influence” over their respective show’s draft picks.
WWE is also advertising an extremely long list of “celebrity” guests and popular personalities from FOX and NBC network shows who will take part in the draft process. It’s probable that we could see the likes of Troy Aikman and Joe Buck announcing picks on behalf of Fox.

NXT wrestlers have typically been involved in past drafts and superstar shake-up. NXT recently moved from the WWE Network to the USA Network in August, and is currently competing with upstart rival All Elite Wrestling on Wednesday nights, which could explain the decision to keep the current NXT roster together.
