Everyone's citing the same Jay Gruden quote after the Redskins coach was fired

Black Monday came early for Jay Gruden.
Early in the morning after the Washington Redskins lost their fifth game of the 2019 season, the franchise fired its head coach. In six years, the Skins made the playoffs once and Gruden had a 35-49-1 record.
With controversy swirling around the team — there were reports that Gruden didn’t want to draft quarterback Dwayne Haskins earlier this year — it made sense for all parties, although you could pin this one on roster construction more than coaching.
On his way out, he delivered a quote that everyone’s citing now that he’s out: “If the key works Monday, I’ll keep working.”
