Team USA had the worst opening quarter ever in FIBA loss to Serbia
Oh noooo.
On Thursday, Team USA lost to Serbia with Bogdan Bogdanovic (28 points) and Nikola Jokic (nine points, seven assists) in the consolation bracket game that, on paper, could have been the battle for the 2019 FIBA World Cup title had the Boston Celtics United States not fallen to a solid French squad.
The final score was 94-89, but it might have been a much, much worse defeat if the U.S. hadn’t rebounded from an absolute heinous first quarter, in which Serbia was up 32-7. Nope, I didn’t mistype there! The Americans scored all of seven points in the opening period.
Seven.
SEVEN!!!
Here’s some reaction:
That’s … not good at all.
