Max Holloway posts classy tribute to Frankie Edgar day after UFC 240 win: 'I am part Frankie'
"I am who I am as a father and martial artist because of some of the things I've learned from Frankie."
Max Holloway is one of the best fighters to ever step inside the Octagon. The UFC featherweight champ is also one of the classiest fighters in the fight game, which he has shown off a number of times over the years.
And now he’s done it again, as he posted a classy tribute Sunday to Frankie Edgar, the UFC legend who he beat Saturday night at UFC 240 in Edmonton.
Holloway wrote on Instagram:
The GOAT talk always makes me cringe. Legends can coexist. Frankie was gonna win no matter what last night because I am part Frankie. I am who I am as a father and martial artist because of some of the things I’ve learned from Frankie and coach Mark Henry. Proud to be Hawaiian, proud to be honorary Canadian. But if you know this sport the way us fighters know it, every champ reps a little bit of Jersey whether they like it or not because of these two legends
Here’s the photo that went with it:
That right there is what makes this fight game so great. So much respect.
