Novak Djokovic ate grass to celebrate his marathon Wimbledon championship
GOATs eat grass.
Novak Djokovic spent five hours of his Sunday running around in a high-intensity Wimbledon championship against Roger Federer. That works up an appetite.
Nothing about the match looked easy. From holding off two match points from Federer to forcing the tournament’s first 12-12 fifth-set tiebreaker, Djokovic was pushed to his max in order to capture his second straight Wimbledon title.
So, yeah, he was understandably pumped when he finally won. He shared a handshake with Federer and then … uh … he ate grass.
Djokovic kneeled to the ground, picked up some grass, and then, he ate said grass. That’s one way to remember the epic win at Centre Court — even if tennis fans had plenty of jokes for the celebration.
I mean, after five hours, he had to be hungry.
The GOAT jokes were appropriate. With the win, Djokovic captured the 16th men’s singles grand slam title of his career. It was his fifth career title at Wimbledon.
