'Star Wars: Episode IX': 7 things we learned from 'The Rise of Skywalker' teaser
Your first look at the final chapter in the Skywalker saga!
Star Wars fans around the world finally got a first look at Episode IX, which we now know is titled The Rise of Skywalker.
During the annual Star Wars Celebration, the new teaser for the final chapter in the Skywalker saga dropped and for die-hards everywhere, it lived up to the hype that will come along with the third movie of the new trilogy set to hit theaters in December of 2019.
So what did we learn from that teaser? I watched it about a dozen times and, after catching my breath, here are the big takeaways we see in the two-minute video:
1. The gang is on a desert planet
And what are they there to do? I’ll get to that in a second.
2. Rey has the whole Force thing down
She does a backflip over a TIE fighter for crying out loud!
Seems like she’s gotten even better with her use of The Force than in The Last Jedi.
3. LANDO IS BACK
This is the best.
4. Princess Leia will appear
This is lovely after Carrie Fisher died in 2016.
5. Where is everyone including Poe and Finn going?
Okay, here’s a theory: This giant mountain has something huge to do with The Force and Jedi Knights, and Rey read about it in the books she took from Luke’s library.
6. Emperor Palpatine is still alive!?
That evil laugh at the end of the teaser tells you something … and also the actor who plays him, Ian McDiarmid, was on stage for Star Wars Celebration. WHOA.
7. Kylo Ren is going to wear his mask again
Lame!
