Selection Sunday Live Stream, see which teams make the Tournament
One of the most exciting hours of sports television is upon us as the NCAA Tournament Selection Show, most commonly known as Selection Sunday, takes place, you guessed it, this Sunday at the CBS Studios in New York. The 68 best college basketball teams of this season will be matched up against each other, and the famous bracket will be revealed.

After trying a new format last year with the 68 teams being revealed in alphabetical order before showing the matchups and region brackets, the Selection Sunday show in 2019 will return to its usual formula: brackets and matchups will be revealed one by one and as quickly as possible, so there is more time to see the reactions from the campuses as they learn whether they will be in March Madness and who their first opponent will be.
So how does the selection process work? The 32 teams that win their Conference Tournaments this weekend earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, so the selection committee does not need to choose all 68 teams. They choose 36 teams who earn an at-large bid, which is based on their regular season record, their tournament performances and the strength of the conference and the opponents they faced.
But even if teams have a strong season and go deep into their conference tournaments, they still don’t know for sure if they’ll be in March Madness, so Selection Sunday is the only way to officially find out if they’ve booked a place in the NCAA Tournament.
