Jorge Masvidal wins with stunning KO, then gets in backstage fight
UFC Fight Night: London ended with fireworks both inside and outside the octagon.
Jorge Masvidal delivered one of the best knockouts of the year in the main event of UFC Fight Night: London on Saturday – and went on to throw a few more punches backstage after getting into an altercation with welterweight Leon Edwards.
Masvidal was knocked down by Darren Till early in the first round, but he ended the fight in spectacular fashion in the second with a devastating blow with his left.
Till fell back and smashed the back of his head against the canvas, and the official quickly waved off the fight.
In his octagon interview, Masvidal said that he wanted a title shot this year – and he’ll certainly be in line for a big fight after taking out the No. 3 fighter in the division.
During an interview backstage, Masvidal was distracted by Leon Edwards, who beat Gunnar Nelson by decision in the co-main event earlier in the evening. Masvidal walked out of the interview and dared Edwards to “say it to my face.” The two fighters came face-to-face, and Masvidal hit Edwards with a few strikes.
