Liverpool and Man City go to extra time in League Cup final
The English League Cup final between Premier League rivals Liverpool and Manchester City went to extra time after the game finished 1-1 at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.
City, seeking a second League Cup crown in three years and fourth in total, took a 49th-minute lead when Fernandinho beat Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet with an angled right-foot shot.
But Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool, eight-time winners of the competition, took the game to extra time when Philippe Coutinho followed in to score with seven minutes remaining after substitute Adam Lallana had hit the post.
The match will be decided by penalties if the score remains level following the extra 30-minute period.
