The Cannes Film Festival isn't just for movie stars and film directors.
It's also an event for billionaires.
Over the past decade, wealthy celebrities like Kim Kardashian and businessmen like Jeff Bezos have attended parties and red carpets at the French festival.
And while some of their outfits have stunned and made for memorable fashion moments, others have missed the mark entirely.
Here's a look at the best and worst looks billionaires have worn at the Cannes Film Festival over the years.

Designer Neeta Lulla created Reddy's pink and blue gown, which had sheer cape sleeves, a thin train, a bedazzled bodice, and a mermaid-style skirt.
Reddy — a billionaire entrepreneur, according to Vogue India — completed the outfit with sparkling gloves, a white purse, and diamond Harry Winston jewelry.

Her custom Lan Yu dress was crafted from a floor-length piece of silver, sparkling fabric. It was sleeveless, embellished with a train, and held together on its sides with thin strings of crystals.
But because you could see the gown's base layer of tan shapewear beneath it, the overall outfit looked incomplete.
Kardashian — who has a fortune of $1.7 billion, according to Forbes — wore the dress with diamond earrings and a slicked-back hairstyle.

She arrived wearing a strapless Christian Dior ball gown and a matching floor-length shawl.
The outfit was classic and fitting for the musician, who Forbes reports is worth $1.4 billion.
But to make the outfit even better, Rihanna added a small pair of white sunglasses and a diamond cuff that wrapped around her wrist.

Adam Selman custom-made her baby-blue dress, which had an ankle-length, button-up dress beneath a thick corset.
The gown's concept was unique, with its bottom layer left unbuttoned to create an off-the-shoulder effect and a daring skirt slit. But its structured bodice was distracting and didn't translate well on the Fenty Beauty founder.
Its light satin color also didn't match her multicolored jewelry. Simple diamonds could have worked better.

He attended "The Old Oak" screening wearing a black pleated skirt, a cropped blazer, and a matching vest adorned with pearl buttons beneath it. He also sported calf-length socks with shining dress shoes.
The outfit was fun and made the 31-year-old billionaire stand out on the red carpet.
Witzøe is the heir to a Norwegian salmon empire. He's estimated to be worth $4 billion, according to Forbes.

She attended the charity event wearing a see-through mermaid gown made from mesh.
The sleeveless top, covered in polka dots, hugged her body, while the layered skirt sat high in the front and draped into a train across the back.
The black-and-gray piece was daring, unexpected, and fashion-forward — an ideal choice for the heiress to the Getty oil fortune, which Forbes estimated was $5.4 billion in 2015.
But because she wore the dress without a bra, it looked as though Getty had forgotten part of her outfit. Adding the undergarment would have complemented the outfit's matching bottoms and kept the focus on its striking design.

George Lucas, who has a $5.3 billion fortune, according to Forbes, walked the "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" red carpet in a classic tuxedo with satin lapels and a matching tie.
His outfit was simple and not the most fashionable. However, it allowed the focus to remain on the stunning, sequin-covered gown worn by his wife and businesswoman Mellody Hobson.
Together, the two looked like Hollywood royalty.

The filmmaker is worth $4.8 billion, according to Forbes. So, it would've made sense for him to attend "The BFG" events in classic suits and designer outfits that year.
But instead, he attended one Cannes event wearing baggy blue jeans and running sneakers.
Luckily, the top of his outfit worked better. He wore a black blazer over a white top and gray tie and accessorized with a matching scarf.

He attended a Dolce & Gabbana party that year wearing a white suit with a black button-up and a white undershirt beneath it.
But he also accessorized perfectly. He donned white sneakers, a thin belt, aviator sunglasses, a diamond chain necklace, and another pair of glasses tucked into his jacket pocket.
Jay-Z is worth $2.5 billion, according to Forbes.

The Amazon founder, who has an estimated $202 billion fortune, attended a Vanity Fair party alongside Lauren Sánchez and wore a traditional suit.
He looked sharp, but his outfit didn't scream party — especially not compared to the stunning, sparkling gown worn by his fiancée.
Bezos needed a statement watch or a sparkling brooch to spice up his outfit.
