Legendary filmmaker Sangeeth Sivan passes away at 61. He breathed his last at a private hospital in Mumbai wherein he was undergoing treatment as per reports in Asianet News reports. Sangeeth, who was the elder son of the esteemed photographer and cinematographer Sivan was born in 1959 and he completed his education at MG College and Mar Ivanios College. Soon, he started working with his father on documentaries.

Sangeeth later entered the mainstream film industry and co-produced Raakh starring Aamir Khan, Supriya Pathak and Pankaj Kapur in main roles. He even wrote Vyooham, a crime film starring Raghuvaran and Sukumaran. He rose to fame with Mohanlal's Yodha, Gandharvam and Nirnayam. He even directed Hindi films such as Zor, Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne, Kyaa Kool Hai Hum and more films. He is survived by his wife, Jayashree, and children, Sajana and Shanthanu.
The news of Sivan's death has come as a shock for many. Sivan's family is yet to issue a statement about his death. Well, his last project as a filmmaker was in 2019. He made his OTT debut with Bhram series which Kalki Koechlin in the lead role.
