Elephant Rumblings: A’s take third straight series
MLB news roundup
Happy Monday, Athletics Nation!
Yesterday, the A’s were down 6-1 after a mid-game pelting by the Nats, but our boys in green and gold put up a big, crooked “6” in the bottom of the sixth to get back in front and set up another ninth inning appearance for Mason Miller. I suspect Miller is even more confident than I am at this point that the A’s will get the W when he’s up to make a save.

With yesterday’s win, the A’s have taken three straight series for the first time in nearly three years. The vibes sure have turned around for this team since embarking on their first road trip earlier this month. The A’s are within striking distance of the AL West lead, as a matter of fact.
Don't look now, but the Oakland A's are just one game out of first place in the AL West. #Athletics pic.twitter.com/ixqsUw2vxA

Is this a real inflection point for the young team, or just a springtime blip that will soon feel like a distant memory? AN’s own Nico shared his thoughts on this question over the weekend; be sure to check out his piece if you haven’t already.
All of this on-field goodness could allow one to forget that the A’s are moving to Sacramento next season. Sorry if that sentence spoiled your mood, but Shomik Mukherjee at the Mercury News shared some Sacramento residents’ perspectives on the A’s impending arrival that are pretty interesting.
Have an excellent week, AN.
