Nalbandian: Between Armenia and Georgia there are no problems, there are issues that are jointly solved
ArmInfo. In recent years, the Armenian-Georgian relations have achieved significant growth and are dynamically developing in the spirit of mutually beneficial
cooperation. On April 11, at the briefing with Foreign Minister of
Georgia Mikheil Janelidze, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward
Nalbandian stated in Yerevan.
He noted that a constant intensive dialogue with his Georgian
colleague allows discussing a wide range of issues on the bilateral
agenda, thereby stimulating efforts to strengthen and expand
cooperation. "During the meeting, we discussed the implementation of
the agreements reached at the level of the heads of the two states.
Both sides periodically repeat that there are no problems between
Armenia and Georgia, there are issues that are being jointly
resolved. Our today's meeting is an example. An important element of
our interaction is an interested dialogue around stability in the
region. We noted with satisfaction that economic cooperation
registered progress, effective activity is carried out by a joint
intergovernmental commission. A wide range of issues of development
of cooperation in trade and economic, energy, infrastructure spheres,
expansion of interaction in the field of tourism, and improvement of
the regulatory framework between the two states were discussed, which
includes more than eight dozens of documents. The meeting also
touched upon issues of concern to Georgian Armenians," the Armenian
Foreign Minister noted.
At the same time, Nalbandian said that he told his Georgian colleague
about the efforts of Armenia and the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs to
create the appropriate conditions for the promotion of the
negotiation process on the Karabakh settlement: "In this regard, we
attach importance to the permanent assistance of Georgia to the
activities of the Minsk Group. We also discussed a number of topical
issues on the international and regional agenda."
