Elmar Mammedyarov and Russian Ambassador discussed the extradition of Lapshin
ArmInfo. The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammedyarov and Russian Ambassador discussed the case of extradition of the blog writer Alexander
Lapshin from Minsk by Bacu's request, said the Foreign Minister in an
interview to RIA Novosti.
"We received a note from the Russian and Israeli embassies on this
case. Literally tomorrow or the day after tomorrow the Russian
Council will meet Lapshin in accordance with the Vienna Convention.
The Embassy will have an access for communication his him. We will
see the technical details by today. I already met the Russian
Ambassador and discussed the given question. I see no obstacles
here", said the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan.
According to him, the question of Lapshin will depend on the
completion of the investigation. "He is charged on several articles
of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. The final decision is the
decision of the Court", he noted. Wherein, the Minister said that he
is surprised and disturbed by the politicization of the case. "All
the time he is called a blog writer. And what if he was an engineer,
no one would carry about him? He violated the law and in accordance
with judicial bases a case is opened", he resumed.
