Commission performs in the fight against disinformation and how
likely it is that disinformation can disrupt the electoral process.
The Chairman of the Central Election Commission stated that in the
legislation of Armenia, and especially in the Electoral Code, there
are many norms that are aimed at preventing or at least reducing the
spread of false information and its impact on the electoral
processes. Legislative norms that are fully applied were presented in
detail. It was noted that from the point of view of combating false
information, especially in the election cycle, the most effective way
is prompt interaction with the media, simultaneous monitoring and
prompt information.
Pointing out the importance of combating disinformation, Hovakimyan
also said that the draft five-year strategy for the CEC's activities
pays special attention to combating disinformation.
