U.S. Ambassador says his country hopes Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders will be open to new proposals of OSCE MG mediators
United States welcomes the idea of the Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents to meet by the end of the year, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills told reporters.
According to the diplomat, the United States expects Serzh Sargsyan and Ailham Aliyev to have comprehensive discussions on the issues and steps needed to defuse tensions on the Line of Contact.
Ambassador Mills called it rather a positive step by the sides. He said the United States hopes that the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders will be open to the new proposals of the mediators and will show their readiness to discuss them.
