The Investigative Committee of Armenia opened a criminal case on abuses in "Martik" Fund
ArmInfo. The Main Department for especially important cases of the Investigative Committee of Armenia instituted criminal proceedings in connection with the abuses revealed in the Martik Fund.
According to the information of the press service of the IC, based on the statement of the member of the "Yelk" of the Council of Elders of Yerevan Anahit Bakhshyan, materials were prepared. As a result, it was found out that during 2008-2017 the administrative expenses committed by the executive director of the fund exceeded by 10% the total costs, and the overexpenditure amounted to 26,191,377 AMD. "Thus, the requirements of clause 5.5 of the fund's charter have been violated, as a result of which the organization suffered significant damage," the department said.
A criminal case was instituted under Part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code. A preliminary investigation is under way. Investigative and other procedural measures are being taken to clarify all the circumstances of abuse of authority by the executive director of the Martik Foundation.
