Ara Babloyan took part in CSTO PA Council meeting
ArmInfo.Ara Babloyan, Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia took part in the meeting of the Council of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly on April 12 in St.
Petersburg.
According to the NA press service, the heads of the parliaments of
Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan participated in
the meeting.
At the suggestion of the chairman of the National Assembly Babloyan,
the next meeting of the Council of the CSTO PA and the Assembly will
be held October 29-30 in Yerevan.
During the meeting, a number of issues related to the activities of
the CSTO PA were discussed, in particular, the outcome of the Minsk
session of the CSTO PA Council, the situation in the organization's
area of responsibility and countering modern challenges and threats
to collective security, priorities of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in
the CSTO in 2018, members of the CSTO in the international
observation mission at the presidential elections in the Russian
Federation, making additions and changes to the program of activities
of the CSTO PA on bringing together and harmonizing national
legislation, the state members of the CSTO for 2016-2020 and etc.
The question of the participation of the parliamentary delegations of
the CSTO member states at the winter session (February 22-23, 2018,
Vienna) of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the coordination of
the activities of the parliamentary delegations of the member
countries of the organization for the summer session (July 7-11,
2018, Berlin), the PA OSCE presented for discussion by the Chairman
of the CSTO PA Committee on Political Affairs and International
Cooperation, Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Economic
Affairs Khosrov Harutyunyan.
