The Armenian Foreign Ministry reacted to the statement of the Azerbaijani presidential aide Novruz Mammadov
ArmInfo. Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Shavarsh Kocharyan responded to the statement of Novruz Mammadov, the Azerbaijani presidential aide on foreign policy
issues, who after the Geneva meeting accused Sargsyan, the head of the Armenian
state, in an attempt to "disrupt the agreement reached during the talks."
"Against the backdrop of the comments of the President of the
Republic of Armenia, following the meeting in Geneva reflecting the
cave thinking of Novruz Mammadov, the remarks of the diplomatic
correctness in relation to the President of Azerbaijan are another
proof of what exactly impedes the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh
problem," Shavarsh Kocharyan wrote in his microblogging on Twitter.
Spokesman for the Armenian Foreign Ministry Tigran Balayan also
commented on Novruz Mammadov's statement. "The Baku nomenclator with
the expired validity period again missed the opportunity to remain
silent and not to show off all its limitations," wrote Balayan in the
social network Twitter.
It should be noted that the Sargsyan-Aliyev meeting was held in
Geneva on October 16. The meeting was attended by the Foreign
Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan Edward Nalbandian and Elmar
Mammadyarov, Minsk mediators Igor Popov (Russia), AndrewSheffer
(USA), Stefan Visconti (France) and Personal Representative The OSCE
Chairman-in-Office Andrzej Kasprzyk. On the same day in Geneva, at
the Armenian Embassy in the Swiss Confederation, President Serzh
Sargsyan met with representatives of the Armenian community and
presented the results of the talks held on the same day with
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
"A few minutes ago the meeting with the President of Azerbaijan
ended: there are no concrete agreements, so to speak, we do not have,
as to the options for solving the problem, but we agreed to take
measures to further ease the tension so that we do not have any
victims on the front line. and I am deeply interested in it, God
grant that he always thought so, he also understands the complexity
of the problem, naturally, I am also, but this is a question that
will never have a simple solution. I want you all to be sure that for
us there can not be a solution that can in any way violate the
security of Karabakh. The only solution for us is that Karabakh was
outside of Azerbaijan.Never one Armenian leader can not accept and
implement such a solution, and for this purpose we will do
everything, while at the same time ensuring the development of
Armenia, economically strengthening our country, "President Sargsyan
said.
Meanwhile, the assistant to the Azerbaijani President on foreign
policy issues, Novruz Mammadov wrote on his Twitter page: "It was
decided that besides the agreed points, there will be no other
statements." Despite the promise, he (Serzh Sargsyan) again did not
keep his word: Apparently, the intention to derail the negotiations
is still with him. "
