The scandal with false diplomas of Armenian universities is in progress - a statement was made due to this fact by the National Security Service, and appropriate criminal cases have been raised against some of rectors.
ArmInfo.The National Security Service of Armenia called the Ministry of Education and Science to take measures to eliminate violations revealed in non-state universities of the country, in order to exclude such problems in the
future.
The problem is that 3 non-state owned universities have issued fake
diplomas to students who did not attend classes, and in some cases to
persons who did not attend the current and final exams at all .
During the investigation of this criminal case it was found out that
20 citizens of Armenia and other countries were forged for fake
purposes with forged diplomas. According to the court's decision, 2
rectors were found guilty, and in relation to 3, a preliminary
investigation was ordered.
Meanwhile, as reported by Datalex, on June 26 the court of general
jurisdiction Kentron and Nork Marash under the leadership of Judge
Arshak Vardanyan.received a case against the rector of the St. Teresa
University Larisa Hambardzumyan .
As a preventive measure against Larissa Hambardzumyan, a written
undertaking not to leave the country was chosen.
It should be noted that false diplomas were issued not only to
Armenian citizens, but also to dozens of students from foreign
countries, including Iran, USA, Georgia, Russia, Uzbekistan and
Israel. To note, recently a scandal erupted in connection with the
fact that the Ministry of Health of Israel has not approved diplomas
of students who have received education in Armenia for more than a
year. Moreover, the Ministry appealed to the Police to find out the
validity of diplomas issued to foreign students by Armenian medical
universities.
