Armenian central bank revises upward GDP growth forecast
The Central Bank of Armenia has revised upward its forecast of economic growth for 2017 to 3.3-4.8% from its previous forecast of 2.2-3.2%.
According to the regulator’s report on inflation and fiscal policy in the first quarter of 2017, the upward revision was prompted by higher-then-expected economic activity in the first quarter. It said medium-term forecasts were not revised.
In 2018, the economic growth is expected to be 2.7-4.5%, and 3.1-5.2% in 2019, according to the bank.
The government’s projection of GDP growth for this year is 3.2%. -0-
