Suspect of Russian serviceman murder in Armenia’s Gyumri to be in pretrial detention for two months
The suspect of the murder of a Russian serviceman in Gyumri, the second biggest city of Armenia, will be in detention for two months pending trial, the Investigation Committee of Armenia reported on Wednesday.
Dmitry Yalpayev, a 21-tear-old serviceman at Russia's military base in Armenia, was stabbed to death in his head on April 22 near one of the city's shops.
The suspect, Arman Janjughazyan, 20, showed in a crime re-enactment how he committed the crime.
The enquiry has already found out that the suspect had mental problems once he served his military duty in the Armenian army.
After a special examination he was found unfit for military service and dismissed from the army.
The Russian military base is deployed in Gyumri in accordance with an international agreement signed between Moscow and Yerevan in 1995. --0---
