Ameriabank has provided $150 million worth loans as part of joint programs with EBRD
Ameriabank has been cooperating with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) since 2010 and until now it has provided a total of $150 million worth loans as part of joint projects, Ameriabank’s Retail Operations Director Arman Barseghyan said today at the official launch of EBRD’s Women in Business program in Armenia.
According to him, a third of these funds was used to finance small and medium-sized businesses. He said also that Ameriabank has attracted $10 million lending from EBRD this year, mainly under the Women in Business program and is currently actively lending within the framework of this program.
According to him, about 13 billion drams worth loans have been allocated to women-led companies, of which about 6 billion drams have been allocated for the development of SMEs.
"It is symbolic that in addition to lending, women entrepreneurs also use other financial instruments, including factoring, guarantees and other banking instruments," Barseghyan said.
He also said that Ameriabank offers women entrepreneurs favorable credit terms, secured by property.

The Women in Business program was officially launched today in Yerevan. It is funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Union, Sweden and EBRD’s Early Transition Countries Fund.
