French Development Agency to carry out $40 million worth projects in Armenia – ambassador
The French Development Agency (AFD) is going to carry out approximately $40 million worth projects in Armenia, French ambassador to Armenia, Jean-François Charpentier said at the meeting with Armenian prime minister Karen Karapetyan today.
"The French Development Agency will continue its active investment policy in Armenia for improving local infrastructures. A number of French companies are interested in developing activities in the country", Charpentier was quoted as saying by the government press office.
In turn, Karapetyan stressed the great potential of economic cooperation between the two countries stressing also the importance of enhancing the participation of French businesses in Armenia.
According to Karapetyan, Armenia and France are also expanding interregional relations. In this context, the Armenian prime minister noted the importance of the Third Congress of Armenian-French Decentralized Cooperation, held in Yerevan this past December.
Karapetyan also noted that Armenian-French relations have been particularly friendly, reflected in the intensity of bilateral cooperation and mutual visits.
He expressed satisfaction with rich, comprehensive agenda of bilateral relations in various spheres and stressed the importance of implementation of joint programs in the area of economy. -0--
