Armenia’s domestic trade down 1.1 percent in quarter one
Armenia's domestic trade in the first quarter of 2016 totaled about 434.6 billion drams, a drop of 1.1% from the same time span of 2015, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS).
NSS said retail trade accounted for about 57.3% or 248.8 billion drams of the total domestic trade. In January-March of this year it was 4.8% down from the same period last year.
The wholesale trade turnover accounted for 39.8%, or about 173 billion drams of the total domestic trade turnover, a 4.7% growth.
According to statistics, stores accounted for the bulk of retail trade - 75.2% or 187.1 billion drams, while marketplaces accounted for 16.9 billion drams or 6.8% of the total retail trade. ($ 1 - 479.6 drams). -0-
