Taxes paid by Armenian banks for first 9 months of 2021 rose by 7.7% to about 41 billion drams
The amount of taxes paid by Armenian banks for the first 9 months of this year rose by 7.7% or 2.9 billion drams, compared to the same indicator of the past year, Deputy Executive Director of the Union of Banks of Armenia (UBA) Arman Sargsyan said at a press conference on Friday.
YEREVAN, November 5. /ARKA/. The amount of taxes paid by Armenian banks for the first 9 months of this year rose by 7.7% or 2.9 billion drams, compared to the same indicator of the past year, Deputy Executive Director of the Union of Banks of Armenia (UBA) Arman Sargsyan said at a press conference on Friday.
According to him, the amount of direct taxes paid by the banks grew by about 1.8 billion drams or by 5.5%,
“The average amount of taxes paid by commercial banks in the 3rd quarter amounted to 2.407 million drams, which is more than two times more than the average amount of taxes paid by other large corporate taxpayers (845 million drams), while the average amount of income and profit tax paid by the banks in the 3rd quarter was 2.059 million drams - 7 times higher than the same indicator of other companies (286 million drams),” he said.
According to the official figures of the State Revenue Committee, all 17 Armenia-based commercial banks are in the list of 1000 largest corporate taxpayers in the first 9 months of 2021, having paid over 40.9 billion drams in various taxes.
Of that amount some 40.7 billion drams were collected by the tax authorities and over 181.9 million drams by the customs authorities. Also, 15.1 billion drams were paid as profit tax, 19.9 billion drams as income tax, more than 2.1 billion drams as VAT and 3.8 billion drams as other taxes and duties.
Armenia’s one thousand largest corporate taxpayers paid more than 871 billion 241 million drams in various taxes in the first nine months of 2021. Some 733 billion 143 million drams were collected by the tax authorities while more than 138 billion 98 million drams by the customs authorities.
The list is topped by the national natural gas distribution company Gazprom-Armenia, which paid more than 38.26 billion drams. It is followed by the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine - about 38.25 billion drams and the Defense Ministry - 34.2 billion drams. ($1 – 475.91 drams). -0-
