Ambassador: Russian Ural and Yandex interested in starting joint projects in Armenia
Speaking at a panel discussion in the frameworks of the Armenian –Russian business forum in Yerevan on Monday, Armenian ambassador to Russia Vardan Toganyan said active work was underway with a number of large Russian companies that would like to use the Armenian jurisdiction to be represented in the region.

Speaking at a panel discussion in the frameworks of the Armenian –Russian business forum in Yerevan on Monday, Armenian ambassador to Russia Vardan Toganyan said active work was underway with a number of large Russian companies that would like to use the Armenian jurisdiction to be represented in the region.
He said one of them is Ural company, which produces equipment for oil, gas and mining enterprises and the other one is Yandex that provides Internet products and services, including transport, search and information services, e-commerce , navigation, mobile apps, and online ads.
"Of course, the Armenian market is not very large in terms of volume for such companies as Ural or Yandex, with which we are negotiating. For example, the Ural company is interested in assembly production, with the prospect of increasing its presence in Iran and Iraq,’ the ambassador said.
As for Yandex, he said the company is studying the Armenian legislation in the field of automobile traffic. The ambassador said Yandex wants to carry out a five-year plan in Armenia designed for unmanned vehicles in the winter season and mountainous conditions.
The business forum was organized by the governments of Armenia and Russia, as well as by the Russian state corporation VEB.RF and the Russian Export Center (REC). A large delegation of Russian entrepreneurs arrived in Yerevan led by Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk. --
