Armenia airline to operate regular flights to Moscow and Tbilisi
Starting September 20, 2021 the Armenia airline will be operating daily regular flights from Yerevan to Moscow, Russia and Tbilisi, Georgia, the airline’s commercial director Gevorg Khachatryan told a press conference on Thursday.
YEREVAN, September 9. /ARKA/. Starting September 20, 2021 the Armenia airline will be operating daily regular flights from Yerevan to Moscow, Russia and Tbilisi, Georgia, the airline’s commercial director Gevorg Khachatryan told a press conference on Thursday.
According to Khachatryan, thanks to these flights Yerevan will become a transit point, which is a new opportunity to attract additional income to the country.
He also said that closer to the New Year the airline will start operating flights to Russian Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Sochi, Rostov and Novosibirsk. The company operates now flights to Tehran and Baghdad.
Khachatryan noted that since the resumption of air communication with Russia in February 2021, the Armenia airline has carried out 1,610 flights and transported about 155 thousand passengers.
According to the company's forecasts, the number of passengers will reach about 300 thousand by the end of the year.
The Armenia airline was founded in late 2015 with all its shares privately owned. Its base airport is the international airport Zvartnots in Yerevan. The airline’s fleet comprises new generation Boeing 737-500 and Boeing 737-700 airliners. -0-
