Azerbaijani sniper kills Armenian contract serviceman
Armenia’s Ministry of Defense said a contract serviceman was killed on September 1, at about 11.10 after Azerbaijani troops located in its exclave Nakhichevan used small arms and sniper rifles to shoot in the direction of the Armenian positions in the Ararat region of Armenia.

Armenia’s Ministry of Defense said a contract serviceman was killed on September 1, at about 11.10 after Azerbaijani troops located in its exclave Nakhichevan used small arms and sniper rifles to shoot in the direction of the Armenian positions in the Ararat region of Armenia. It said the serviceman - 39 year-old Gegham Sahakyan- died of a fatal wound.
"The Ministry of Defense strongly condemns the actions of the Azerbaijani side and warns that they will not remain unanswered. All responsibility for aggravating the situation lies with the military and political leadership of Azerbaijan," the ministry said in a statement.
On August 16, the Azerbaijani troops resorted to provocations in the border regions of Armenia - near the Yeraskh village in Ararat region, near the Sev Lich Lake in Syunik and in the Gegharkunik region targeting local civilian population. -0-
