Armenian FM and CSTO chief discussed ways to ease tension on Armenian-Azerbaijani border
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is on a working visit to Moscow, met on Tuesday with CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
YEREVAN, September 1. /ARKA/. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, who is on a working visit to Moscow, met on Tuesday with CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.It said during the meeting, Mirzoyan and Zas discussed the situation that has resulted from the incursion of the Azerbaijani armed forces into the sovereign territory of Armenia. Mirzoyan and Zas stressed the need for an early de-escalation of the tension.
The interlocutors also spoke in detail about the dynamics of changes taking place at the regional and international levels, which have a direct impact on the vital interests of the CSTO member states.
Mirzoyan stressed that during the upcoming chairmanship of the CSTO (from September 2021) Armenia will make active efforts to develop and strengthen the potential of the organization. Zas assured that the CSTO Secretariat will make every effort to advance the priorities of Armenia's chairmanship in the CSTO. -0-
