Armenia's death toll from Covid-19 reaches 4,499
Armenian health officials have recorded 26 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, saying the total number of confirmed cases rose to 224,253 as of Monday.
YEREVAN, June 21, /ARKA/. Armenian health officials have recorded 26 new cases of Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, saying the total number of confirmed cases rose to 224,253 as of Monday.
According to the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, one person has died from Covid-19 during the past 24 hours, taking the total tally of such deaths to 4,499.
Some 63 patients have recovered. Overall, 3,768 people have tested for the infection in the last 24 hours, it said. No person with confirmed coronavirus has died during that time span from another disease. The number of such deaths is now 1,095.
In total, 1,152,631 coronavirus tests have been performed in the country of 3 million since March 1, 2020, when the first case was detected. Since then 216,112 patients have recovered, and 2,547 patients are being treated currently at hospitals and their homes.
On January 11, the government of Armenia extended the coronavirus quarantine for another six months until July 11, 2021.
The nationwide quarantine was first imposed on September 11, 2020 replacing the state of emergency that was declared on March 16 to stop the spread of coronavirus. -0-
