Azerbaijan says still committed to reinstatement of relations with Armenia
Azerbaijan is still committed to the reinstatement of relations with Armenia, and it is up to them to decide on it, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said.
YEREVAN, June 21. /ARKA/. Azerbaijan is still committed to the reinstatement of relations with Armenia, and it is up to them to decide on it, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said.
Bayramov called on the Armenian authorities to draw the right conclusions from the political crisis that took place in the country.
"Yesterday, early parliamentary elections were held in Armenia, a new government is expected to be formed. We believe that the Armenian government will study the causes of the crisis and draw the right conclusions from it," he said, according to TASS.
The Azerbaijani minister expressed disagreement with the opinion that the political crisis in Armenia was the result of its recent defeat in the conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh.
"The crisis in that country was caused by decades of violations of international law and forceful violation of internationally recognized borders of states," Bayramov said.
'The elections in Armenia have just taken place, we must wait for the formation of the government in order to understand how these processes can affect, among other things, the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, ' Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday.
"The elections have just taken place; it is not yet clear how these results will affect the shaping of political life in the new conditions. Let's wait until the government is formed," Lavrov said, RIA Novosti reported.
According to him, Moscow proceeds from the fact that the trilateral agreements signed by Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, which ended the war and launched the process of coordinating economic interaction, are working. -0-
