YEREVAN, November 17. /ARKA/. The Armenian National Assembly amended Friday the law on social assistance to border communities.nbsp;br

Vache Terteryan, deputy territorial administration and development minister, said that in accordance with the law, residents of the border communities that are dangerous from a military perspective have their utilities expenses partly compensated by the government.nbsp;br
br
This means such communities’ residents pay less for consumption of natural gas, electric power and irrigation water.nbsp;br
br
Those residents of border areas who use stove woods and coal instead of natural gas for heating their homes enjoy compensations as well.nbsp;br
br
The sizes of compensations are decided by the government.nbsp;br

The law also implies that the government must provide residents of border communities who have become homeless because of Azerbaijani assaults with housing in the territory of the same community.nbsp;br

“The law came into force on January 1, 2015 and will be in force until January 1, 2018, but taking into account the importance of this law and the necessity to continue support for border communities’ residents, the government has decided to extend this law validity to 2020,” Terteryan said.nbsp;br

The program targets 37 residential units, for which AMD 928 million are allocated from the government budget every year. ($1 – 487.42). --0---br
