The things which make my Reddit feed
I don't think spoiler tags need to be divisive. Right now it becomes a problem because there are no Animal Crossing Items definite rules about what is expected and acceptable from the sub.
If the principles were clear (ie: spoiler tags required for events that have not occurred in real time or spoiler tags required for posts that contain items which have been attained via hacking to bypass timelocking) possibly users wouldn't accept it as a personal attack on their play style when individuals requested they use a spoiler tag.
Instead of feeling sensitive to a perceived judgment about time traveling it could just be a simple"hey that is contrary to the rules, see sidebar".
(Edit: it's fine to downvote that if you're a avid TTer and don't want to indicate spoilers or something. Just trying to offer another viewpoint in this thread that's asking for feedback)
The things which make my Reddit feed and also top the list on hot following the sticky are varied on topic so I would not say there's an problem with shared occurrences that neighborhood upvoting and downvoting does not already resolve.
I usually think spoiler tags are somewhat absurd, but you'd want to go further than just time travel if you really wanted to avoid spoiling things people haven't seen yet. All from current season content will require a tag weather it's an old image from your image library or even a new image from time traveling both will show new players thing they have not already seen. Plus things like the hottest direct video clips will need tagging since it reveals new content before anybody gets a chance to view it in-game.
I don't see any problem with memorials. I believe remembering your loved ones is beautiful and shouldn't be judged just as something dark or frightening.
I really don't think spoiler tags for articles that's been in the game since launch is fair. When the match is out its out. Anything found in the game after that's fair for seeing. So far as New Horizons proceed, how will spoilers for content even work when there are just two hemispheres and several time zones? When items and events turn into naturally available in a special timezone outside of the US, if person be downvoted for what's rightfully available to them? Northern players for example spoiled things annually for southern hemisphere players rather than a word was said about it. Southern hemisphere players were admonished all summer because we obviously had snow. Yet few whined about all the summertime things that northern hemisphere players would flaunt. What's that fair?
Then there's the dilemma of determining what is new? How long could we need to use spoilers? When exactly does brand new content stop being'fresh' and for whom? Employing the southern hemisphere again a good example, snow by mid-July was not new for cheap Animal Crossing New Horizons Nook Miles Ticket us. But we would be asked to use spoiler tags while northern hemisphere players would not.
