Emma Stone’s ‘Battle of the Sexes’ Sets Awards Season Release
Emma Stone’s follow up to her Oscar-winning “La La Land” has set a release date at the beginning of this year’s awards cycle.
“Battle of the Sexes,” about the 1973 tennis match between world number one player Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs, will hit theaters Friday, September 22.
The match captivated the world, and began a global conversation about gender parity — and gave weight to the feminist movement permeating America at the time.

Stone won the Best Actress Oscar in February for her performance in Damien Chazelle’s “La La Land,” opposite Ryan Gosling. It was her first Academy Award.
