Nika Melia is expected to meet with Merabishvili on Monday
Next week it will become known whether the post of Secretary General of the National Movement is vacant. Teammates will meet with Vano Merabishvili in prison to hear te decision of the Secretary General of the party..Nika Melia is expected to meet with Merabishvili on Monday.
National Movement says that if Merabishvili refuses to take the position, this position could be completely abolished.
Vano Merabishvili`s lawyer, Otar Kakhidze, who recently left the National Movemen does not speak about Merabishvili`s position.. However, he confirmed that the Merabishvili has not expressed his consent on retaining the post of the General Secretary of the party .
The members of the National Movement have explained that Merabishvili will retain the post , however, due to his imprisonment Nika Melia will assume his powers. Melia will have to combine the powers of the Chairman of the National Movement and the Secretary-General, as the congress has not new people to this positions.
National Movement says the post of the chairman of the party will be left vacant, however it will not hinder party`s political activity.
