Judge TAKES AWAY Fani-Kayode’s mobile phone during trial
– Mobile phones of Femi Fani-Kayode, the former minister of aviation, have been seized during the trial

Femi Fani-Kayode, who has been re-arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday, October 21, was deprived of his mobile phones at a Lagos court during the trial.
Recall that the ex-minister of aviation is currently facing trial alongside Nenandi Usman, a former minister of finance, and Danjuma Yusuf.

They were arraigned on a 17-count charge bordering on unlawful retention, unlawful use and unlawful payment of money in the tune of about N4.9 billion.
Daily Trust reports that Mr Kayode has disturbed the order as one of his mobile phone rang out loud in the middle of the trial. Justice Sule Muslim Hassan, the presiding judge, ordered to seize his phone and asked others to keep silence.
Witness’ testimony
Mr Idowu Olusegun, the witness for the prosecutor, stated that the office of the The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) campaign organization paid him N30m in cash.
He said that when he had asked why payments was made in cash, one Mr Oke informed him tha it was the approved means of payment.

Mr Olusegun also stressed that there is an outstanding payment of N24 million which is yet to be paid to his company.
Mssrs Kayode, Usman and Yusuf had pleaded not guilty and were granted bail by Justice Hassan.
The trial has been adjourned till November 14 and 15 for continuation.
