FA Cup Final player ratings: Rashford stars for Manchester United as Yohan Cabaye struggles for Crystal Palace
Manchester United have won the FA Cup courtesy of a 2-1 victory against Crystal Palace after extra time at Wembley this afternoon.
Alan Pardew's men began the game nervously but the first real chance of the game fell their way when Connor Wickham burst free on the left flank.
However, the Palace striker was brought down by Chris Smalling and referee Mark Clattenburg rejected the chance to play advantage.
The first-half was starved of clear-cut chances as Palace sat deep to soak up United's pressure and the Red Devils' cumbersome build-up play rarely threatened.
United returned with the bit between their teeth after the break and Marouane Fellaini smashed an effort against the post after a fine piece of skill from Marcus Rashford.
Anthony Martial also went close on the hour mark but the French forward's precise header could only beat Hennessey but not the upright.
United were well on top but substitute Jason Puncheon came up trumps to put Palace into the lead courtesy of a superb finish from a tight angle.
However, the Eagles could only hang onto their lead for three minutes and Juan Mata drew United level thanks to Marouane Fellaini's knock down, which was enough to take the game to extra time.
Smalling saw red for a second bookable offence and Palace had the benefit of a numerical advantage for the remaining half of extra time but were unable to make it count and Jesse Lingard's volley was enough for United to lift their first piece of silverware since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.
