City Lights takes on corporate culture
If you missed Aaron Loeb’s “Ideation” when it had its world premiere at San Francisco Playhouse in 2014, before it went on to win the Glickman Award and then transfer to New York, City Lights Theater Company offers a chance to make up for lost time.
More exciting still, Mark Anderson Phillips, one of the performers from that acclaimed original production, now directs the show’s South Bay premiere.
The play, an ingenious and disturbing corporate drama, is set in a conference room where Hannah (Lisa Mallette) leads a group of consultants in a project whose vagueness eventually gives way to ghastliness.
