Charlton Athletic vs Scunthorpe United match postponed following pitch inspection at the Valley
Charlton Athletic's League One match with Scunthorpe United has been postponed following a pitch inspection at the Valley.
The pitch was inspected around 10am this morning when referee Dean Whitestone made the call to postpone the match due to the frozen surface.
The match was due to kick-off at 3pm this afternoon.
A short statement released by Charlton read: "Temperatures reached -5 degrees inside The Valley on Friday night and, despite every possible step being taken by the club’s ground staff to get the game on, the referee has deemed the playing surface to be unsafe.
